IR upgrade for TODv1.0 spyBOT
TODv1.1 is an upgraded version of TODv1.0. The upgrade includes an IR remote control interface rather than computer keyboard interface.
I’ve mounted TSOP17 photo module on the bot which recieves ir signals.To decode the tata sky remote panel signals,I’m using Ken Sheriff’s IRremote library. It uses a four key interface similar to that used in mobile racing games (not the one with touchscreens) i.e :
2 ↔ move forward
8 ↔ move backward
6 ↔ move right
4 ↔ move left

yeah definately. In fact, I too am looking forward for making it completely wireless. But for that, I gotta replace the 12V DC motors with the 6V DC motors so that they use only 4AA batteries. (else 8 if I use 12V motors).
Another option is using li-on backpacks. But, neither they provide suffiecient power nor they are cost effective.
